At Good Hope Baptist Church we have ministries that meet the need of the congregation.  Our ministries are geared toward enriching, encouraging and enlightening.  Below is a list of ministries at Good Hope.

Men’s Ministry

The goal of the Men’s Ministry is to give every man a new understanding and appreciation of the gospel, faith, prayer, stewardship, fellowship, evangelism. By studying and applying God’s word – it will create the spiritual man that God intended.

Deacon Ministry

For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. (II Timothy 3:13) – Our Deacons are available to serve the congregation and support the pastor. These men are men that live up to the characteristics found in II Timothy.

Evangelism Ministry

Jesus commands every born again Christian to go into all the nations and share the Gospel with others (Matthew 28:19-20). We are the arms that will reach out to the church body and the community to invite others to come and experience the powerful walk they can have with Jesus the Christ. The Evangelism Ministry will visit those in hospitals, nursing homes, and to knock on doors sharing The Gospel with anyone who will hear.

Hearts of Praise – Young Adult Praise Dance

“Our goal is to bring a message of hope, encouragement and empowerment to the art of creative dance. To edify the soul, capture the lost expression of self and bring the young and old alike closer to our Savior Jesus Christ.”

Praise dancing is now being accepted by the Christian community as a means of worshipping the Lord. In ancient times dancing had been an integral part of worship. Exodus 15:20 records how Miriam and others danced for joy to celebrate their deliverance by the mighty Hand of God. The Hebrew Scriptures mentions numerous times when dancing was used to express one’s thankfulness to the Lord. Besides the term ‘dance’ other Hebrew words usually translated as ‘rejoice’, ‘joyful’ and even ‘tremble’ convey meanings to spin or circle around with a vigorous and enthusiastic expression of joy.

Clearly, the reappearance of praise and worship dance into religious and other celebratory occasions such as weddings is one of the signs of the Lord restoring His body.

Hospitality Ministry

The purpose of the Hospitality Ministry is to welcome our members and visitors to worship. We greet with a smile and demonstrate that we at “The Hope” have a wonderful spirit that comes from being children of God.

Multimedia Ministry

The Media Ministry is designed to make CD and DVD recording of all Sunday services and annual days and various church functions. This ministry is also responsible for the duplication of CD and DVD’s for purchasing.

Mission II

Our desire is for you to become active in our women’s ministry. Visit the sick and shut-in, fellowship with women in surrounding churches, go out and have bible study with our mothers of the church, visit nursing homes to share God’s gift of love with those that can’t get out and may be longing to hear a song, scripture or prayer.

Gifts become manifest in the process of ministering to and serving other. When we become spiritually employed, the Kingdom of God on earth is released.

Junior Mission

Our mission is to edify our commitment to Jesus as Lord and our commitment to Christ’s body in the community by going among the people teaching, motivating, stimulating thought, and through personal contact in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We are to stand as a strong body of young women while ministering and providing the courage to all women in the way of the Lord. Holding our substance in the Word of God and maintaining the faith and commitment to our Lord, ourselves and to others.

Music Ministry

The Music Ministry consists of hand clapping, foot stomping, Holy Ghost filled, anointed voices praising God. These Voice of Hope consists of the Main Choir, Praise Team, Children’s Choir, and the Male Choir. Praise is a vital part of worship. The primary objective is to be used by God as instruments of praise and provide avenues of increased fellowship uplifting Jesus.

Scholarship Ministry

This fund is established to assist our college bound youth with the expenses associated with attending an institution of higher learning for the purpose of earning a college degree. Examples of expenses includes, but are not limited to, tuition, books, educational supplies or personal items. Our objective is to issue scholarships twice a year to students (members of Good Hope Baptist Church) who are enrolled in a college or university.

Sunday School

The mission of Sunday School is to teach and proclaim the Word of God – He is the one and only True God. That the Kingdom of God is of power, righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. We are to proceed in the knowledge and hope of a Heavenly Kingdom not made by hands. We are to be faithful, setting good examples for others, depending upon the Word of God, calling for repentance and being committed to God and His Son Jesus Christ.

Marriage Ministry

The mission of the Married Ministry is to enrich marriages. This ministry focuses on strengthening and reviving marriages through workshops, retreats, and fellowships. All activities are based upon the Word of God. We study through books, video and testimonies.

Usher Ministry

The purpose of the Usher ministry is to serve during worship and to assist the congregation in seating, directions and order. Worship should be done decently and in order. Our Ushers are dedicated in serving with a smile and serving with a “Heart Like Jesus”.

Seniors Ministry

As Elders, we serve the Lord by caring for the senior saints of the church. We visit the sick, alert ourselves to the spiritual needs of the congregation. We help to promote unity in the church and help in facilitating the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ – our Lord and Savior. As “Seasoned Saints” – we demonstrate that as older saints we can still serve and worship God.

Youth Ministry – T.W.I.S.T. (True Worshippers In Spirit and Truth)

The Youth Ministry is designed to minister to the needs of young people up to the age of 20. The Youth Ministry will actively practice the presence of Christ by serving Him and others through the church. The Youth Ministry will seek to develop strong Christian leadership characteristics, individual self-awareness, and a wholesome interest in others. This Ministry will develop a proper attitude concerning discipleship, worship and the stewardship of living.

Singles Ministry – S.O.U.L. (Singles Operating Under the Lord)

The Singles Ministry is designed to encourage singles to live a life pleasing to the Lord.  Those who are not married have a great purpose in the Kingdom of God and this ministry is designed to assist in understanding what that purpose is.
